README

Project Overview

YuKi is a desktop media aggregator: Electron provides the UI and system host, a separate FastAPI / Python process runs the CatVod and Kazumi content engines, and playback and downloading are delegated to mpv, aria2c and ffmpeg. It is local-first and tracking-free, uploading none of your personal data.

Two engines behind one interface, with viewing, downloads and watch history all kept on your machine.

Key Features

  • Dual engines: CatVod config sources cover aggregated search, details and playback, while Kazumi rules support import, a store, editing, testing and real stream extraction
  • mpv playback: auto-advance, resume, real-time Anime4K upscaling, screenshots and smart intro/outro skipping
  • External players: point at a local mpv build, or hand playback to VLC or PotPlayer
  • Native playlists: an online season proxies through a local resolver into mpv's native queue, deduplicating identical downloads
  • Live TV: browse and play IPTV channels from txt and m3u lists
  • Download system: aria2c direct downloads and ffmpeg HLS downloads, with per-series folders and system notifications
  • Data sync: favorites, history and watch stats, plus Bangumi account sync and WebDAV backup
  • Visual customization: neutral gray with an accent color, and background images that support drag positioning, zoom, opacity and blur

Target Audience

  • Users who want several media sources managed in one desktop app
  • Anime watchers with local libraries who want download-and-watch in one flow
  • Privacy-conscious users who prefer viewing data to stay local

Quick Start

  1. Download YuKi-Setup-x.y.z.exe from Releases and double-click to install
  2. Paste a TVBox config URL under Settings → CatVod Source Settings to load sources
  3. Install anime sources with one click under Settings → Kazumi Rules → Rule Store
  4. Before using cloud-drive sources, set cookies or scan the login QR under Settings → Cloud Drive Accounts

Core Advantages

  • Complete engines: both the CatVod and Kazumi ecosystems work in one UI, and you can add your own configs and rules
  • Powerful playback: the bundled mpv does upscaling, continuous play and intro/outro skipping, yet you can swap in a player you know
  • Privacy you control: no telemetry, no statistics, no crash reporting, and all data stays local
  • Watch while you download: a whole online season feeds mpv's native queue while downloads run in parallel

System Requirements

Item Requirement
OS Windows 10+ x64; macOS and Linux packaging under validation
Development Node.js 20+ and Python 3.14
External components mpv and ffmpeg can be downloaded automatically; aria2c must be supplied

Notes

  • The app neither provides nor stores any media content; playable resources come from configs you add or local files
  • Some sources contain ads, redirects or cookie checks, so add unknown configs with care
  • Cloud-drive sources are best kept on episode-by-episode playback to avoid triggering rate limits
  • The software ships as is, with no guarantee of source availability or parsing success
