Project Overview

Shiguang Capture is a free and open-source desktop screen capture tool for Windows, macOS and Linux. It annotates screenshots right after capture, controls screen recording with a floating orb, recognizes text from images offline and translates between Chinese and English, letting screen content be further edited and reused. No account is needed; OCR and translation models ship with the installer and images and text are processed entirely on your machine.

• Screenshot annotation: draw arrows, rectangles, text, cover-ups or sketches right after selecting, with undo and redo
• Recording control: fullscreen, region or window recording with a 3-second countdown, live preview and a blue orb for pause, resume and stop

• Chinese-English translation: tap to translate recognized text with side-by-side comparison; offline models ship with the package

Quick Start

1. Download and install the package for your system, then adjust shortcuts in Settings
2. Press F1 to select a region, annotate, then copy, save, pin or extract text
3. Press F6 to open the recorder; use F6 to pause/resume and F7 to stop and save

Notes

• The Windows package is unsigned and macOS is ad-hoc signed; allow it on first launch
• Screenshots copy by default; saving is your choice, and OCR never overwrites the clipboard automatically
• Scrolling long captures and complex merged tables are still experimental
