README

Project Overview

Publish Helper is a release assistant for private-tracker (PT) media publishers that automates the most tedious steps of the seeding workflow: fetching PT-Gen descriptions, extracting MediaInfo, generating and uploading screenshots, creating thumbnails, naming files from templates, organizing directories and producing torrent files with one click. Built on a modular architecture, it offers a GUI, a command-line interface and a REST API, plus Docker one-click deployment.

From fetching the description to creating the torrent, publish in a single command.

Key Features

  • Description fetching: pulls release descriptions from PT-Gen with multiple API sources and fallback endpoints
  • Info extraction: intelligently extracts MediaInfo parameters and generates screenshots and thumbnails
  • Image host upload: concurrent multi-threaded upload to FreeImage, ImgBB, Lsky and other hosts
  • Smart naming: auto-generates titles and filenames from templates and organizes directory structures
  • Torrent creation: generates torrent files in one click, with hard-link support to save storage
  • Series handling: batch renaming and episode processing, including special naming for short dramas
  • Multiple interfaces: GUI, CLI and REST API with optional Bearer authentication
  • Container deployment: a unified Docker image bundling a Vue frontend, Flask API and nginx

Target Audience

  • PT site release uploaders and encoding groups
  • Content organizers who batch-publish movies, series and short dramas
  • Media teams that want to automate the release workflow

Quick Start

  1. pip install -r requirements.txt (on Linux also install libmediainfo and CJK fonts)
  2. Copy .env.example to .env and configure API keys and image hosts
  3. Run the GUI with python src/main_gui.py
  4. Or run the CLI with python src/main_cli.py for a one-click workflow
  5. Or deploy with docker run -p 15373:15373 ghcr.io/bjdbjd/publish-helper:latest

Core Advantages

  • One-click workflow: fetch description, extract info, upload images and create the torrent in one go
  • Three interfaces: GUI, CLI and API cover desktop, scripting and integration scenarios
  • Flexible deployment: Docker runs the whole service with a unified frontend-backend image

System Requirements

Item Requirement
OS Windows, macOS, Linux
Runtime Python 3.9+
Extra dependencies libmediainfo and CJK fonts on Linux
Containerization Docker (optional)

Notes

  • Confirm your target PT site's release rules and copyright requirements before seeding
  • Keep image-host API keys safe and never commit them to public repositories
  • Platform page structures may change; watch for updates when scraping fails
