Project Overview

Videdown is a modern open-source video download tool: the desktop shell is Electron and the engine is the powerful yt-dlp, covering 1000+ video platforms worldwide.

The interface is clean and direct: paste a link, parse, pick quality and format, download. Queues support pause/resume/retry, progress shows speed and ETA, browser cookies unlock login-only videos, and audio-only extraction is built in.

Quick Start

1. Download the Videdown Setup installer from Releases and install
2. Copy a video link (Douyin, Bilibili, YouTube all work)
3. Paste into the input box and click Parse
4. Pick quality and format, then download
5. For login-only content, import the cookie file exported from your browser first

Build from Source

1. Clone the repo and install pnpm dependencies
2. Provide yt-dlp and ffmpeg executables yourself
3. pnpm dev to develop, pnpm build to package
