Project Overview

NotchPeninsula is a notch-style desktop widget for Windows 10/11 built with Win32, SkiaSharp, and NAudio. It creates a lightweight transparent window at the top of the desktop that gathers system media status, notifications, and audio visualization into a slim floating area. It suits single-screen and narrow-bezel setups where you want interactive feedback without giving up desktop space.

• Media control: takes over the system media session with play, pause, track switching, and timeline seeking
• Island lyrics: supports translations and word-by-word lyrics, with the island width adapting to the line
• Audio visualization: captures system output and renders a spectrum, keeping volume motion when idle
• System notifications: listens for Toast notifications with three layouts and optional sounds
• Hardware monitoring: built-in clock, date, and CPU and memory usage
• Clipboard links: a copied link pops up a panel that opens on click
• Plugin system: drop a plugin into the folder to auto-load, with hot reload and several extension points
• Personalization: themes, background opacity, notch style, and fonts are all adjustable
• Auto-hide: collapses on focus loss, pause, or full-screen apps

Quick Start

1. Download and run the compiled program from Releases
2. It stays in the tray and shows at the top center of the screen by default
3. Right-click the tray icon to open settings, recall the island, or quit
4. Adjust display items and styles by category in the left sidebar

Notes

• First run needs notification access or Toast messages cannot show
• It is a Windows desktop program and not meant to run directly on macOS or Linux
