README
Project Overview
DanmuTools is a desktop tool that fetches danmaku across multiple platforms, useful for video analysis, danmaku visualization, and comment research. It covers four major sites: iQiyi, Bilibili, Youku, and Tencent Video, parsing and fetching danmaku automatically once you paste a video link. Fetching runs on background threads so the interface stays responsive, and the results are exported as standard XML that Bilibili local players can use directly. It ships a graphical interface that keeps operation simple.
Four platforms' danmaku, fetched at once and saved as XML.
Key Features
- Multi-platform: covers iQiyi, Bilibili, Youku, and Tencent Video
- Link recognition: automatically detects video links and parses the matching danmaku data
- Live progress: shows real-time progress while fetching
- Standard export: exports danmaku as XML compatible with Bilibili local players
- Graphical interface: a PyQt5 desktop UI with no command line required
- Multithreaded fetching: fetching runs on background threads so the UI never freezes
Target Audience
- Researchers who download danmaku for analysis
- Developers working on danmaku visualization
- Users who want danmaku for a local player
- Users who need to organize comment data in bulk
Quick Start

- Set the save path and click "start download" to get an
.xmlfile
Core Advantages
- Full platform coverage: one tool spans four major video platforms
- Ready to use: a graphical interface with no scripting needed
