README

Project Overview

DComicReborn is a third-party multi-source manga reader built with Flutter for Android, iOS, and Windows. It handles browsing, favorites, reading, and history in one interface and supports several manga sources, with cross-source binding so the same title can be linked across sources. For multi-device handoff, connect your own sync server; the app works fully without one, and the sync service only manages users and sync data, never providing or proxying manga content.

Keep reading across your phone, tablet, and desktop.

Key Features

  • Multi-source search: switch between manga sources with keyword search, category filters, and ranking browsing
  • Favorites and updates: a cover bookshelf, update badges, and cross-source binding for the same title
  • Reader: page turning and vertical scrolling, a chapter list, and end-of-chapter comments, with light/dark themes and single-column or wide dual-column layouts
  • Reading history: progress and settings are saved locally, with optional history backup
  • Multi-device sync: choose which categories to sync after connecting a self-hosted server, with incremental sync and conflict handling
  • Per-source accounts: manage accounts for each manga source separately; source accounts and sync accounts are independent
  • Experimental features: optional cross-source badge sharing and auto matching

Target Audience

  • Readers following titles across multiple manga sites
  • Users who want to continue reading between phone and desktop
  • Users willing to self-host a server to manage their data

Quick Start

  1. Download the package for your platform: APK for Android, a self-signed IPA for iOS, or an installer or portable ZIP for Windows
  2. Open the app, switch content sources in the sidebar, and search or browse for manga
  3. Read in page-turning or vertical mode; progress is saved locally
  4. For multi-device handoff, start the sync server with Docker, then fill in the address, username, and password under "Settings → Database Sync and Backup" and enable sync
  5. Adjust theme, reading palette, and tap areas as needed in settings

Core Advantages

  • Local-first: fully usable without a server, with data stored on your machine by default
  • Cross-source binding: favorites and progress for the same title aggregate across sources
  • Self-hosted sync: you deploy the sync server, so data never passes through a third party
  • Consistent across devices: phone, tablet, and Windows share one interface and interaction model

System Requirements

Item Requirement
OS Android 7.0+, iOS 15+, Windows 10+
Architecture Multiple Android ABIs; Windows x64
Sync server Requires Docker, supporting linux/amd64 and linux/arm64

Notes

  • This is not an official client of any manga site; content and API availability depend on the sources and your network
  • The iOS IPA is unsigned and must be signed by yourself; it is not an App Store package
  • Use HTTPS when exposing the sync server publicly; sync is not end-to-end encrypted, so the server admin can access stored data
  • Copyright of manga and images belongs to the respective rights holders
