README

Project Overview

tchMaterial-parser is a download tool for electronic textbooks on the National Smart Education Platform of China. Paste one or more textbook preview URLs and it parses and downloads the PDF files in batch, names them automatically, and can add bookmarks, all out of the box.

Key Features

  • Smart batch download: paste multiple textbook preview URLs to download in batch, automatically skipping finished files, with the option to stop at any time
  • Automatic naming and bookmarks: uses the textbook name as the default filename and can add PDF bookmarks after download
  • Access Token support: enter a token manually and it is saved and reloaded on the next launch
  • Fast resource search: search by name or by stage, subject, and grade combinations, with results expanded automatically
  • Interface experience: high-DPI support and automatic light/dark mode that can also be toggled manually
  • Cross-platform: Windows, Linux, and macOS with a graphical interface

Target Audience

  • Teachers, students, and parents who need textbooks from the National Smart Education Platform
  • Users who batch-organize PDF textbooks and want bookmark annotations

Quick Start

  1. Download the build for your platform from Releases (Windows 10/Server 2019 or later, Linux, macOS 10.15 or later), or install via winget install happycola233.tchMaterial-parser or yay -S tchmaterial-parser
  2. Paste the textbook preview URLs into the text box, one per line
  3. Optional: sign in to the platform, run the console script to get the JSON, then click Set Token and paste it
  4. Click Download; the app parses and downloads the textbooks, adding PDF bookmarks if enabled

Core Advantages

  • Batch download with automatic skipping of finished files, so re-runs only fill in missing or failed ones
  • Automatic naming and optional PDF bookmarks for easier management and reading
  • One-command install via WinGet and AUR, or run straight from source
  • Open source and free under the MIT license, storing, hosting, and distributing no resource content

System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 (Server 2019) or later, Linux, macOS 10.15 or later
  • Architecture: x86_64, Arm64
  • Additional dependencies: Python 3.10 or later when running from source; none for packaged builds

Notes

  • Access Tokens expire (usually in about 7 days); get a new one if downloads fail
  • On macOS the unsigned app may be reported as damaged; run xattr -cr to remove the quarantine attribute and move it to /Applications
  • Windows 7 or 8.1 users can use the unofficial branch tchMaterial-parser-for-Windows7
  • The token is used only for local authorization, never uploaded or stored in the cloud, so do not share it publicly
  • Resource copyright belongs to the original platform and rights holders; use for personal learning and teaching reference only
