Project Overview
Shevery is a community fork of Shizuku, the well-known Android privileged-API framework, keeping its core mechanism of letting apps call system APIs as shell/root after an ADB or root grant while fully modernizing the manager.
The UI is rewritten in Jetpack Compose with Material 3 Expressive; additions include Dhizuku-compatible Device Owner management, biometric locking, ADB ZIP module install and management, Gemini explanations with AI command creation, and Android 16/17 targeting.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Platform | Android (Android 16/17 targeting) |
| Upstream | Fork of RikkaApps/Shizuku |
| Stack | Kotlin + Jetpack Compose (Material 3) |
| License | Apache-2.0 |
The classic no-root privileged API solution gets a modern coat, module management and biometrics included.
Key Features
- Compose manager UI: Material 3 Expressive components, motion and rounded icon treatment
- Device Owner management: delegation scopes, ownership transfer and DPM-assisted ADB, Dhizuku compatible
- Biometric security: a master switch requiring fingerprint or device credential with configurable timeouts and granular action protection
- ADB modules: ZIP module install, enable/disable,
action.shexecution, local WebUI and run logs - Module policies: safe mode, full access and background-action control per module
- Module catalog: direct install of community modules from a built-in catalog
- AI extras: Gemini explanations for shell/ADB commands, macros and AI-generated commands
- Shizuku API compatible: existing Shizuku-dependent apps work unchanged
Target Audience
- Advanced users needing privileged APIs without root
- Shizuku users wanting a modern UI and new features
- Enthusiasts managing ADB modules
- Deep users of Device Owner setups
Quick Start
- Uninstall the official Shizuku Manager first (package conflict)
- Install
shevery-release.apkfrom Releases - Start the service via wireless debugging or root and grant access
- Apps needing privileged APIs work through the Shizuku API as usual
- Optionally enable Dhizuku bridging, biometric lock and module policies in the lab
Core Advantages
- Thoroughly modern UI: Compose rewrite with looks and motion beyond the original manager
- More features: Device Owner, module management and AI commands absent upstream
- Ecosystem compatible: full Shizuku API compatibility, existing apps just work
- New Android ready: Android 16/17 support lands early
System Requirements
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| OS | Android (Android 16/17 targeting) |
| Activation | Wireless debugging or root |
| Migration | Official Shizuku Manager must be uninstalled first |
Notes
- Uninstall the old app: the package name changed, coexisting with the official Shizuku Manager conflicts
- Activation unchanged: wireless debugging or root still starts the service, re-activate after reboot when using wireless debugging
- Module caution: verify third-party ADB modules are trustworthy before installing
