README
Project Overview
DSH-Folk puts DeepSeek Harness (a Node.js coding agent CLI) inside your phone: the app downloads a Linux container runtime for your device architecture, starts dsh web inside the container via proot / proroot, and then you open its Web UI right on the phone. It requires neither root nor Termux; when root, Shizuku or wireless ADB is available it uses them to relax certain restricted operations. The UI reuses FolkPatch, and the container and runtime delivery approach draws on DSHA / DSHM.
Run a coding agent on your phone without root and without a computer.
Key Features
- One-tap start/stop: start, stop and restart DSH from the home page, showing the running phase, Web UI address and run mode
- Container terminal: a real terminal inside the container, letting you operate directly in it
- Plugin management: manage DSH plugins in the container, showing download counts and popularity, with a built-in plugin store
- Virtual display: launch target apps on a separate virtual display that the container agent can screenshot, tap and swipe
- Config backup: same format as the desktop config-manager plugin, so a zip exported on the phone imports on a computer
- Theme and settings: reuses the FolkPatch theme system with grouped settings for general, appearance, behavior, features and security
- Privilege channels: optional root, Shizuku and wireless ADB channels, strict by default
- Runtime management: check for updates, switch versions and import local runtime packages, with an auto-check toggle
- UI patches: injects legacy-kernel compatibility shims, system bar insets and phone Enter-to-newline patches
Target Audience
- Developers who want a coding agent on their phone
- Android users who prefer not to root their device
- Users who need a portable AI coding environment
- Tinkerers who enjoy containers and runtimes
Quick Start
- Download the APK for your architecture from Releases: arm64-v8a for phones, x86_64 for emulators or ChromeOS
- Open the app after installing; the first launch downloads the runtime (about 150 MB) over the network
- Wait for the runtime to download and the plugins to be pre-installed automatically
- Tap start on the home page and open the Web UI address shown in the log
- For privileged operations, pick root, Shizuku or wireless ADB under "Settings -> Security -> Privilege channel"
Core Advantages
- No root, no Termux: install and go, with no container environment to configure
- On-demand runtime: the first launch pulls the runtime for your architecture, keeping the installer small
- Optional privileges: enable root, Shizuku or wireless ADB only when needed, with no nagging by default
- Interoperable with desktop: the config backup format matches the desktop, so phone and computer can exchange files
- Separate virtual display: the agent works on its own virtual display without covering what you are watching
System Requirements
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| OS | Android 8.0 (API 26) or later |
| Architecture | arm64-v8a, x86_64 (32-bit not supported) |
| First launch | Network required to download about 150 MB of runtime |
| Storage | 2 GB or more recommended |
Notes
- Architecture must match: the wrong architecture prompts an unsupported message on launch and exits
- Web UI token: the access token in the log is effectively the password for that instance, so remove it before asking for help publicly
- Pre-install warnings are expected: the missing dependency warnings during plugin pre-install are expected; check the finishing message to confirm success
- LAN access off by default: the Web UI is reachable only on the local device by default; enable LAN access yourself if needed
