Project Overview
dsh-mobile-apk is the Android shell for DeepSeek Harness: WebView UI covering an embedded Termux runtime snapshot (extract and run, no Termux app needed), SAF directory bridge, foreground keep-alive service, engine watchdog, and online runtime updates. One APK provides a complete dsh web agent capable of executing real bash.
App name DeepCode (icon text DeepSearch), package name com.dsharnessmobile.shell, current version 0.14.0-preview (versionCode 38), engine @deepseek-ai/dsh 0.1.5-rc.1.
Plugin marketplace adaptation warning: The built-in marketplace involves many third-party plugins, and the vast majority may not work on mobile and likely have bugs (mobile and desktop differ greatly in WebView kernel, file system, permission model, and runtime environment). Mobile adaptation is a long-term effort; the beta phase focuses on "usability verification and feedback" and is not yet recommended as a production dependency.
Key Features
- Embedded runtime: xz snapshot bundles node + git + bash + coreutils + dsh + plugins + pnpm + python/perl/ruby; first launch extracts in 2-4 minutes (
refreshSnapshot), engine listens on127.0.0.1:3080; fully offline - Online runtime updates: Manifest-driven snapshot replacement (download → sha256 → atomic switch → auto restart), runtime self-updates without APK updates
- APK self-update: Manual trigger via "Check for Updates" on the splash screen (does not auto-check) — queries GitHub latest release, matches assets by device ABI, mirror chain fallback download
- Keep-alive: Foreground service + 5-second watchdog (auto-restarts hung engine) + 3-second UI polling + crash auto-rollback gate (UndoGate)
- Built-in console: Independent bash interactive terminal (
assets/console.html), usable for troubleshooting even when the engine is not running - AI browser (isolated WebView workbench): Independent workbench in the right sidebar, a second WebView fully isolated from the main UI; AI can open tabs and manage multiple web pages simultaneously
