README

Project Overview

HotDownloader is a music download tool built on a shared Rust download core and a Vue 3 front end, available as a Tauri desktop app, an Android app, and a Docker/Web deployment. It offers multi-source music search, playlist search and import, batch downloads, and lyric and tag writing, and can run in the desktop system tray.

A multi-form music download tool for desktop, mobile, and server

Key Features

  • Music search: multi-source keyword search, suggestions, and hot terms, with paged results
  • Playlist search and import: search playlists by keyword, or import by link and ID for batch download
  • Batch download: select multiple songs from search results or playlists and add them to the queue
  • Smart download: concurrent tasks, resumable transfers, on-demand link refresh, and automatic retries
  • Automatic fallback: start from a chosen quality and select available ones in the configured order
  • Audio processing: decrypt encrypted audio formats and fetch lyrics into file tags
  • Account login: scan-to-login or manual uin/authst entry to unlock member songs and higher quality
  • Task management: group tasks by status with batch delete, retry, cancel, and resume
  • System tray: the desktop app stays in the tray, showing or hiding the main window or quitting

Target Audience

  • Music collectors: users who want to search multiple sources and batch-download songs
  • Playlist migrators: people who need to fetch songs in bulk by playlist link or keyword
  • Multi-device users: those who want one tool on a PC, phone, or self-hosted server

Quick Start

  1. Download the installer for your platform from GitHub Releases, or deploy the standalone service with Docker
  2. Install and launch the app, then set the default quality, download directory, and concurrency in settings
  3. Search for songs by keyword or playlist link
  4. Select the target songs to add them to the download queue and wait for completion

Core Advantages

  • Multi-platform coverage: one download core serves desktop, Android, and Web, keeping the experience consistent
  • Reliable downloads: resumable transfers, automatic retries, and link refresh reduce download failures
  • Complete tags: lyrics are fetched and written into audio tags, so no manual metadata cleanup is needed
  • Quality control: automatic fallback to available quality balances sound quality and success rate

System Requirements

Item Requirement
OS Windows / macOS / Linux / Android (or Docker deployment)
Architecture x64, aarch64 (desktop) / universal (Android)

Notes

  • Make sure the music files you download are used legally and follow the relevant platform copyright rules
  • Desktop builds require Rust and Node.js 22.12 or later
  • Logging in with an account requires a valid uin and authst credential
  • Exiting with downloads in progress triggers a confirmation prompt first
