README

Project Overview

This Windows desktop app collects the whole process of setting up the danmaku API service danmu_api into a single graphical interface. What used to require installing Node, pulling code, writing config files, and babysitting a process is now done by picking a core and clicking install, saving configuration through generated forms that hot-reload, and starting, stopping, and health-checking the service in one place. The installer bundles a Node runtime and all production dependencies, so no extra environment is needed.

Installing, configuring, and running a danmaku API in one Windows desktop program.

Key Features

  • One-click core install: install the stable core from GitHub inside the app, or any custom repository by URL
  • Graphical configuration: forms generated from the core's own variable list, saved with hot reload, with secret variables masked by default
  • Version management: switch branches, install a specific commit or PR build, and roll back to locally kept versions
  • Service supervision: start, stop, restart, port and listen-address settings, and the core log tail shown on failure
  • Desktop integration: tray menu, boot autostart, single instance, system notifications, and firewall authorization for LAN access
  • Companion tools: log viewer, API debugging, danmaku download, cache management, request history, and backup/restore
  • Self-update: a signed update channel to check for and download new versions inside the app

Target Audience

  • Users who want to run a danmaku API locally on Windows
  • Self-hosters who need a danmaku endpoint for players or clients
  • Users who prefer a GUI over the command line

Quick Start

  1. Download the installer or portable package that matches your system architecture from Releases
  2. Launch the app; the first run prepares the bundled runtime in the background, so wait a moment
  3. On the "Core" page, choose the stable core and click install; the first time, pick a GitHub line after a speed test
  4. On the "Config" page, adjust port, token, data source, and other variables; saving applies immediately
  5. Back on the overview page, click start service; allow the firewall prompt if it appears
  6. The service listens on 0.0.0.0:9321 by default; put the endpoint shown on the overview page into your player or client

Core Advantages

  • No environment setup: the installer bundles the .NET runtime, Node.js, and production dependencies, so it runs out of the box
  • Visual configuration: forms are generated from the core's own variable list, so no hand-written config files
  • Debuggable failures: on a failed start, the core log tail is shown instead of a bare "failed"
  • Architecture-aware: in-app updates download only the package matching your architecture

System Requirements

Item Requirement
OS Windows 10 version 19041 (20H1) or later, or Windows 11
Architecture x64, x86, ARM64
Runtime None needed; the installer bundles the runtime and dependencies
Network Access to GitHub, with multiple built-in acceleration lines

Notes

  • The installer uses a self-signed certificate, so Windows SmartScreen may warn about an unknown publisher; continue after confirming the source
  • The app neither contains nor modifies the upstream core, which you install yourself inside the app as a separate copy
  • Uninstalling keeps user data by default; use the in-app cache manager or delete it manually to clean up
  • The 32-bit package installs only on 32-bit Windows; use the 64-bit package on 64-bit systems
