Project Overview

MusicFree is a plugin-based, customizable and ad-free free music player currently supporting Android and HarmonyOS. It does not integrate any platform's sources itself; search, playback and playlist import are all handled through plugins, so any source findable online with a matching plugin can be played here. The app offers light and dark modes and custom backgrounds, and stores all data locally without collecting personal information. The project is open source under AGPL 3.0.

A player that is just a shell: install whatever plugins you want to listen to.

Quick Start

1. Download and install MusicFree from Releases
2. Open the sidebar and go to Plugin Settings
3. Tap install from network and enter the plugin repository URL to confirm
4. Alternatively install a plugin script from a local file
5. Once installed, use the plugin-provided sources on the search or playlist pages

• Third-party plugin risk: vet third-party plugins yourself and never install ones of unknown origin
• No bundled sources: the app provides no sources at all; you install plugins yourself
• Copyright responsibility: plugins and their data are unrelated to this software; use them lawfully and delete copyrighted data promptly
• Beware of impostors: same-named apps and cracked versions in some app stores are unrelated to this project
• Follow the license: keep the code origin when repackaging or redistributing and comply with AGPL 3.0
