README

Project Overview

DSH Melody Launcher: Overture brings the download, deployment, plugin management and startup of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) into a single graphical interface, with interactions inspired by the Forgotten Melody launcher for Minecraft. Its core concept is the Modpack: each modpack is a truly isolated environment (DSH version, plugins, skills, presets, config, sessions) that never interferes with others. It is the consumer-oriented branch of the upstream rirko/dsh-melody-launcher, focused on the modpack experience for individual players.

Key Features

  • Official default modpack: on first launch it automatically pulls and imports from GitHub Releases, including the DSH core, the web suite UI and Office document skills; it can be deleted and restored and is selectable by version
  • True isolation: each modpack has its own derived home directory with a fully isolated set of version, plugins, skills, presets, config and sessions
  • Snapshot transfer: export as a zip snapshot that automatically strips personal data such as API keys; importing launches immediately without re-installing dependencies online
  • Zero-dependency deployment: a bundled portable runtime automatically prepares Node.js / pnpm and DSH
  • Startup and process management: one button launches the selected pack via dsh --profile, opens the web page when the service is ready, and fully manages the process and live logs
  • Unified resource markets: the DSH Market curated plugin catalog and a 1900+ skill market with start/stop and uninstall
  • GitHub acceleration: version lists, plugin catalogs and official pack downloads use a mirror candidate chain and switch sources automatically based on measured speed

Target Audience

  • Individual Windows users who want to deploy and use DeepSeek Harness without the command line
  • Players who need to maintain multiple non-interfering environments
  • People who want to share their plugin and skill configuration as a whole pack

Quick Start

  1. Download DSH-Launcher-*-portable.exe from Releases, a single portable file
  2. On first launch wait for the about 120MB official default modpack to download and import
  3. Enter a DeepSeek or other model API Key in Settings, then click Start DSH on the home page
  4. Say one sentence to the AI to use Office skills and get editable .pptx / .docx / .xlsx files
  5. Click Export on the modpack page and send the zip to a friend to share your environment

Core Advantages

  • Zero-dependency portable runtime with SHA-256 verification and resumable downloads
  • The official pack works out of the box: chat, build slides and write weekly reports right after launch
  • True per-pack isolation with whole-pack export and import, stripping personal data automatically
  • Automatic switching between mirror and direct connections, usable on mainland China networks
  • 861 Vitest tests passing

System Requirements

  • OS: Windows x64
  • Architecture: x64
  • Additional dependencies: none for the portable build; running from source requires Node.js 20 or later

Notes

  • The portable build currently uses no commercial code-signing certificate, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run; after confirming the file comes from this repository Release page, choose More info and Run anyway
  • The project sticks to a non-profit direction; all DSH-related resource rights belong to their respective DeepSeek rights holders
  • The default export contains no personal data; if you opt to include API keys or sessions, a dialog warns about the risk
  • Version switching only lists newer versions since the data format can only move upward; going backward is blocked with an explanation
