README
Project Overview
FreeControl2 controls Android devices from your PC by giving scrcpy a full graphical interface: a device list, parameter panels, connection controls and runtime management, built with Rust and Tauri.
It turns scrcpy's common long options into visual controls, lets each device keep its own parameter set, mirrors multiple devices at once, and downloads scrcpy and adb on demand with fallback download channels.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Platforms | Windows 10/11 (x64), Linux (AppImage, deb) |
| Stack | Rust + Tauri + Svelte |
| Dependencies | scrcpy, adb (downloaded on demand), WebView2 |
| License | MIT |
A friendly shell for scrcpy: devices, parameters, mirroring and logs on one screen.
Key Features
- Device list: one alias per device mapped to its USB serial or wireless address, with live online status
- Parameter panels: six groups of common options as controls matching scrcpy long options, plus a custom field
- Per-device overrides: a separate parameter set per device, enabled or disabled as a whole
- Connection control: connect or disconnect one or all, mirror many devices at once with managed processes
- Runtime management: scrcpy and adb download on demand, with path views and update checks
- Download fallback: direct, built-in proxy and custom proxy channels in order, verified against official checksums
- Persistent logs: per-session output kept for 7 days, 30 days or forever
- Command preview: the exact command to run shows at the bottom, copyable in one click
Target Audience
- Users mirroring and controlling Android phones from a PC
- Users managing several Android devices at once
- Users who find scrcpy's CLI flags hard to remember
- Users who want per-device mirroring presets
Quick Start
- Download the portable single-file Windows exe or a Linux package from Releases
- Launch it and get scrcpy and adb on the runtime page
- Enable USB debugging on the phone, then add the device on the devices page
- Click connect on a device card to mirror, several at once if you like
- Tune default parameters or set up per-device configurations
Core Advantages
- Portable: the Windows single file runs from any writable folder, no install
- Visual parameters: no digging through scrcpy docs, controls map one-to-one to long options
- Parallel devices: multiple mirrored devices run side by side under managed processes
- Ready environment: scrcpy and adb download and verify on demand, managed in one page
System Requirements
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 / 11 (x64, ARM via x64 emulation); Linux |
| Runtime | system WebView2 (install via Microsoft's bootstrapper if missing) |
| Device | an Android device with USB debugging enabled |
| Tools | scrcpy and adb (downloaded on demand) |
Notes
- USB debugging required: devices must enable developer options and USB debugging before connecting
- WebView2 dependency: Windows needs the system WebView2, stripped-down systems may need a manual install
- Key changes need reinstalls: after a signing-key change, new packages cannot update over old ones, uninstall first
