Project Overview
Selling a few Prime parts mid-session usually means breaking your flow to look each one up on Warframe Market. WarframePrimeHelper goes fully local with OCR instead: press a hotkey to capture the drop-list region of the game screen, let RapidOCR read the part names, then query Warframe Market prices in a system notification or a small always-on window. It is a small open-source Python tool built around a Tkinter window and a bilingual item dictionary, which its own script can generate from the Warframe Market API.
One keypress in game, and prices for your drops report right back.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Form | Python desktop utility (run from source) |
| Stack | RapidOCR + Pillow + Tkinter |
| Data source | Warframe Market /v2/items API |
| Platform | Windows |
| License | Unspecified |
How It Works
- Hotkey capture: alt+q triggers a grab of a fixed screen region (500,400 to 1400,460 by default, adjustable)
- OCR recognition: RapidOCR reads the drop text locally, splitting on spaces to extract item names
- Part mapping: a built-in table maps Chinese part names like blueprint, receiver, blade, and neuroptics to English
- Price query: recognized names hit Warframe Market, results pop a system notification and list in the window with caching
Key Files
| File | Purpose |
|---|---|
| main.py | Headless build: hotkey capture, OCR, notification quotes |
| main_window.py | Tkinter GUI build: window, price cache, part mapping |
| make_dict.py | Generates the bilingual dictionary from the Warframe Market API |
| fetch_dict.py / parse_local_wiki.py | Fetches Wiki data to build items.json |
| wfm_dictionary_old.json / items.json | Local item database files |
Quick Start
- Install the Python deps: keyboard, Pillow, rapidocr-onnxruntime, plyer, requests
- Run make_dict.py to generate wfm_dictionary.json, configure a proxy first if needed (default 127.0.0.1:7897)
- Point SCAN_BBOX at your screen's drop-list location
- Run main_window.py, then press alt+q in game to capture, recognize, and query
Environment
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows (screen capture and keyboard hooks) |
| Python | 3.x with OCR and imaging libraries |
| Network | Access to the Warframe Market API, proxy-friendly |
| OCR model | RapidOCR model loads on first run |
Notes
- Personal project: the README is minimal, behavior follows the source, and scripts iterate from wf1 through wf9
- Region depends on resolution: the capture box is hard-coded in pixels, adjust it when resolution or UI layout changes
- Dictionary first: generate or prepare wfm_dictionary.json before first use, otherwise lookups come back empty
- API limits: the Warframe Market API may rate-limit or change, the scripts build in waits and retries
