Project Overview
This is a desktop music downloader benchmarked against Creamplayer, implemented in a single language with Electron and TypeScript. It supports search, playlist browsing and post-login downloads for both QQ Music and NetEase Cloud. When downloading, it automatically embeds covers and Chinese-Japanese lyrics, with tags aimed at foobar2000 and Musicolet, and it also decrypts QQ Music encrypted files.
A desktop music tool that combines search, playlists, downloading, tagging and decryption.
Key Features
- Dual-platform search: QQ Music and NetEase Cloud, with song / album tabs, keyword search and import of song, playlist or album links
- Playlist browsing: after login, the left navigation shows liked music, self-created playlists and collected playlists
- Multiple quality tiers: lossless, APE, 320k, 128k and m4a tiers, with automatic downgrade when unavailable and the reason shown in the download list
- Download queue: adjustable concurrency, download-side rate limiting, atomic writes and automatic re-fetch of expired links, with one-click retry for failed rows
- Lyrics and tags: merges Chinese translations by timestamp into Chinese-Japanese lyrics, embeds covers and lyrics, compatible with foobar2000 and Musicolet
- Cache and decryption: list pages open instantly from in-memory cache with incremental background refresh, and QQ Music encrypted files are imported back to flac, ogg or mp3 with covers, lyrics and tags filled by filename matching
Target Audience
- Local library users: users who download songs locally and play them in foobar2000 or Musicolet
- Format conversion users: users who want to restore QQ Music encrypted caches to common audio formats
- Lyrics collectors: collectors who need Chinese-Japanese lyrics and well-formed tags
Quick Start
- Install dependencies: run npm install and start development with npm run dev
- Search for songs: type a song or artist name, or paste a song, playlist or album link to import
- Log in for playlists: log in to QQ Music or NetEase Cloud, then open liked music, self-created and collected playlists from the left navigation
- Download songs: select songs and click Download Selected in the bottom download bar, then track progress and results under My Downloads
- Package an installer: run npm run dist when you need a Windows installer
Core Advantages
- Smarter downgrade: the downgrade order follows the tier actually registered for the track, so an unavailable tier no longer fails the whole song
- Readable failures: when no direct link is available, it distinguishes insufficient rights from a server that offers none, and tells you whether credentials expired and need re-login
- Player friendly: covers and lyrics are embedded with dual frames or keys, so common players display lyrics directly
- Privacy under control: login credentials stay on the local machine, requests connect directly to the services, and the download pipeline is rate-limited to reduce risk control triggers
System Requirements
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows (npm run dist builds a Windows installer) |
| Form factor | A desktop Electron application |
| Build environment | Node.js and npm |
Notes
- Playable does not mean downloadable: playback and download are separate rights, and some tracks have no server-side download link, in which case failure is expected
- Risk control limits: the download pipeline is limited to 1 request per second, while browsing is not rate-limited but relies on the cache window, so clicking several playlists quickly may trigger throttling
- Anonymous downloads limited: QQ anonymous downloads have been tightened server-side, so even free songs need a login, and NetEase Cloud lossless requires login plus account rights
- Login expires: being logged in does not mean the session is valid, and downloads fail with a re-login prompt when credentials expire
- Usage boundary: for personal downloads of authorized songs and decryption of your own cached files only, with no bypassing payment, redistribution or commercial use
