README

Project Overview

Unified Toolbox is a portable collection of Windows desktop utilities that packs hardware diagnostics, clipboard enhancement, disk cleanup, a software manager, quick launch, and small tools into a single exe. It is hand-written with Python and the built-in graphics library, needs no extra runtime, does all its work locally, and collects no data.

A nineteen-megabyte program that knocks out a pile of system maintenance.

Key Features

  • Hardware diagnostics: live CPU, memory, and GPU gauges, plus disk health, startup items, and processes
  • Clipboard enhancement: keeps text and image history with search, pinning, category filters, and a quick-paste panel
  • Image recognition: OCR on clipboard images, plus plain-text conversion and text tools
  • Space cleanup: scans system junk, empty folders, and large files, with a directory size treemap and full-text search
  • Software manager: uninstall installed apps, one-click upgrades, preinstalled software checks, and leftover scanning
  • File insights: query file locks, view directory sizes, and manage restore points
  • Quick launch: one-click access to frequent programs, folders, and URLs
  • Utility tools: system floating window, scheduled shutdown and restart, and a magnifier
  • New-PC inspection: a checklist for configuration, disks, drivers, activation, and dead pixels, with an exportable report
  • Global hotkeys: shortcuts for the clipboard panel, page jumps, and window pinning

Target Audience

  • Users who maintain Windows regularly
  • People who want an all-in-one system toolkit
  • Staff handling new-PC delivery and inspection
  • Users who prefer portable, offline tools

Quick Start

  1. Download UnifiedToolbox.exe from Releases
  2. Double-click it; the first run creates a config file in your user directory
  3. Pick a module on the left and follow the prompts
  4. Press Ctrl + Alt + V for the quick clipboard panel and press Enter to paste back
  5. Closing the window minimizes to the tray by default; double-click the tray icon to restore

Core Advantages

  • Portable: runs from a single file with no Python or extra runtime
  • Offline: core features work locally and collect no data
  • Justified cleanup: a directory whitelist plus an audit log, while recently changed files are skipped
  • Privacy friendly: likely passwords and tokens are skipped, and history can be cleared on exit

System Requirements

Item Requirement
OS Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit)
Distribution Single exe, no installation
From source Python 3.11

Notes

  • Some cleanup and uninstall actions change the system, so confirm targets within the whitelist first
  • Clipboard history is stored in plain text; do not keep sensitive content there
  • Update checks only reach the network when you click, with no silent background requests
