Project Overview
C-SSH is a server operations client for Windows, M-series Macs, Android and Linux that combines an SSH terminal, RDP remote desktop, an AI assistant and self-hosted cloud in one app; local SSH and Agent features do not require a Cloud sign-in.
The repository only provides client installers and release notes, not the client's own source code; the creation-cloud directory holds the open source code of the companion self-hosted cloud server. Releases are announced for manual download only, with no upgrade prompts or forced updates.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Platform | Windows, Apple Silicon Mac, Android, Linux |
| Current version | v0.9.6 revision 3 (product version 0.9.6) |
| Form | client installers plus self-hosted server source |
| Update policy | announcement and manual download only |
An operations workbench across desktop and mobile, ready to use once installed, with an upgrade pace you fully control.
Key Features
- Multi-platform SSH client: ten official packages covering Windows x64/ARM64, macOS Apple Silicon, Android arm64 and Linux deb/AppImage
- RDP remote desktop: connect to Windows machine desktops alongside SSH operations
- AI assistant: conversations, raw records, Skills and long-term memory stay on device and never join Cloud sync
- Self-hosted cloud: creation-cloud ships the companion server source so you can build your own cloud capabilities
- Agent host management: new hosts confirm compatibility with an existing Agent first, reusing it when compatible and installing only when missing
- Staged deployment feedback: identity adoption, READY confirmation and credential saving show as distinct stages, so failures are no longer misreported as connection errors
- SHA256 verification: every platform package ships a hash you can check after download
Target Audience
- Ops engineers managing many servers
- Users who want SSH and RDP in one app
- Engineers who want an AI assistant in their terminal
- Stability seekers who dislike forced updates
- Advanced users who want to self-host cloud features
Quick Start
- Open the Releases page and pick the package for your platform and architecture
- Verify the SHA256 value from the README, then download and install
- Launch C-SSH and add an SSH host to connect; local features need no sign-in
- For AI or cloud capabilities, deploy the creation-cloud server following the SELF_HOSTING doc
- To upgrade, return to Releases and download the new revision manually
Core Advantages
- Local first: SSH and the Agent need no Cloud sign-in, AI records stay on device
- Controlled updates: announcements without pushes, versions and timing stay yours
- Four platforms covered: desktop and mobile packages ready at once, with hash verification
- Open server side: the self-hosted cloud source is public, auditable and self-buildable
System Requirements
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Windows | x64 or ARM64, installer or portable |
| macOS | Apple Silicon (arm64) |
| Android | arm64 |
| Linux | amd64 or arm64, deb or AppImage |
Notes
- Client source not published: the public repo holds docs, installers and the Cloud whitelist server source only; client, shared core, AI and Agent code stay closed
- macOS build not notarized: the macOS package uses an ad-hoc signature and needs a one-time approval in System Settings
- AI context leaves the device: conversation context for the chosen model goes to that provider
- No iOS build: iOS only receives source and frontend sync, no installers are uploaded
