WebDAVCast

Project Overview

WebDAVCast is an Android player that lets you browse and directly play videos on a WebDAV server, and cast them to a TV with one tap. It supports episode selection, speed control, gestures, and full screen, and saves your progress for later resume. Casting discovers TVs and boxes on the LAN via SSDP, and also supports a direct connection by entering an IP manually.

Key Features

• Directory browsing: browse videos in a WebDAV tree, with each watched video's progress shown right in the list
• Episode selection: the player lists all videos in the current directory for quick switching, and the control bar jumps to the previous or next one
• Player: a hand-drawn transparent control bar with 0.5x to 2x speed and tap-to-seek or drag-to-seek on the progress bar
• Gestures: swipe left or right to skip 10 seconds, double-tap in three zones to rewind, pause, or forward, and vertical swipes on the left and right for brightness and volume
• Full screen: immersive landscape with a control bar that auto-hides after three seconds and shows the system time
• Resume history: progress is saved automatically and history is aggregated by directory, opening straight to the original folder
• Casting: SSDP auto-discovery of LAN TVs and boxes, plus a manual IP direct connection

Quick Start

1. On the home screen, enter the server list page address, WebDAV username, and password, then tap Query Available Servers
2. Pick a server and browse its folders
3. Tap a video to open the player, then tap the full-screen button at the bottom right for immersive landscape
4. To cast, choose a discovered device or enter an IP manually

Notes

• You must provide your own WebDAV server and server list page address
• Casting is a direct mode, so the TV must be able to reach the server
• The release keystore is not included; without one, the build falls back to debug signing
