Project Overview
Cloud IME is a fork that branched off from the Qingjian input method, with the emphasis on everyday experience: fuzzy pinyin, error correction, custom phrases and user dictionaries. The author found Qingjian powerful but bloated, since not everyone needs candidate translation and cloud completion, and rebuilt the input method almost from scratch.
It is written in Rust and open source under GPL-3.0, targeting 64-bit Windows 10/11. Full pinyin (with abbreviated pinyin) is supported today, with double pinyin, Wubi, Cangjie and more to open up gradually.

- Fuzzy pinyin and correction: tolerance for common confusions such as retroflexes and nasal finals, cutting backspaces
- Custom phrases: frequent sentences and special symbols map to short abbreviations for one-shot entry
- User dictionaries: user dictionary management plus the official dictionary, usable out of the box before any third-party import
- Fully local: every action happens on the machine, no network, no privacy harvesting, fully open source
- Translation tip: candidate translation from Qingjian becomes a passive tip, reducing visual noise for pure typing
