Project Overview

Hongguo Short Drama PC Player brings Hongguo short dramas to the desktop, with support for Windows and macOS. It offers two immersive browsing modes, recommendations and categories, with preloading as you scroll and switching via the wheel or arrow keys. When following a series you can pick episodes, auto-play the next episode and season, and resume where you left off. Beyond browsing it packs show discovery and rankings, danmaku and comments, favorites, and watch history, plus a compact window mode and a stealth mode for quick glances during work.

The mobile short-drama experience, moved onto the desktop.

Quick Start

Windows

1. Extract the downloaded zip and double-click 红果短剧.exe
2. On first run, if the WebView2 runtime or HEVC video extension is missing the app installs it automatically; WebView2 needs a network
3. When a new version exists the app prompts you, and clicking "Restart and update" upgrades automatically

macOS

1. Extract 红果短剧.app and drag it into Applications
2. The app is unsigned; if the first launch reports "damaged" or "unverified developer", run xattr -cr /Applications/红果短剧.app in Terminal and open it again

Notes

• This is an unofficial third-party client unrelated to the official Hongguo service, intended for personal study and exchange
• This repository only publishes installers and does not include source code
• Run it on a physical machine; remote desktop, virtual machines, and Windows Server usually lack GPU hardware decoding and may show audio only
• The macOS build is unsigned, so the first launch needs the quarantine attribute removed manually
