README
Project Overview
DSH-X is a lightweight launcher for DeepSeek Harness that lets you pick a version and start DSH web. It only handles version installation, startup and plugin management, without modifying the official DSH web UI. It is a community open source project and not an official DeepSeek product.
Key Features
- Pick a version and go: start, stop, restart, update and uninstall
- Multi-platform: native packages for Windows and macOS, with self-update and launch on boot
- Plugin page: list installed plugins and toggle them, check and update single or all plugins, switch profiles
- Modpacks: install a batch of plugins and their configuration at once, with a community market and import/export
- Compatibility mode: automatically disable problematic plugins based on startup errors, with one-click restore
- Sync and export: sync sessions, attachments and plugin configuration to S3-compatible buckets or WebDAV, or export to a local folder or zip archive
- Dark appearance: follow the system or set it manually, plus floating window opacity and mascot toggles
- Bundled Node and npm runtime: ships a portable runtime and the npmmirror registry
Target Audience
- Users who need to run DeepSeek Harness on Windows or macOS
- Developers managing multiple DSH versions and plugin configurations
Quick Start
- Download and install DSH-Setup.exe on Windows, then open DSH-X from the desktop
- On macOS open the dmg for your architecture and drag DSH-X into Applications
- Open the management page at http://127.0.0.1:3780/ to select versions, start or stop, and manage plugins
Core Advantages
- The launcher bundles its own runtime, so plugin installation does not depend on the system environment
- Switching versions requires no plugin reinstall; plugin data stays in the .dsh folder under the user directory
- Only one version runs at a time, avoiding port and data conflicts
- A built-in fast path shortens startup by about 1 to 2 seconds
System Requirements
- OS: Windows and macOS
- Architecture: macOS ships Apple Silicon and Intel packages; Windows uses an x64 installer
- Additional dependencies: none for the packaged release; building from source requires Node.js 22.18 or later
Notes
- The launcher is unsigned, so antivirus tools such as Windows Defender may flag it; add the install directory to exclusions
- The macOS app is not notarized, so right-click and choose Open on first launch
- You can optionally verify downloaded files with the sha256 hashes listed on the Releases page
