README
Project Overview
Kaze SLauncher lets you run Minecraft Java Edition servers directly on an Android phone, walking through environment deployment, Java installation, server download, EULA acceptance, and a live console in one flow. It bundles proot and Ubuntu 24.04, so no root and no Termux are needed, and hosting starts right after installing the APK. The app is written in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and follows the Material 3 Expressive style.
Turn a spare phone into a Minecraft server you can carry anywhere.
Key Features
- Eight server cores: supports Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Spigot, Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, and can import your own jar
- Self-contained Linux environment: proot and Ubuntu 24.04 ship inside the APK, so deployment needs no hundreds-of-megabytes rootfs download and no root access
- Automatic Java install: infers the right JDK from the MC version and installs it via apt, covering 8 / 17 / 21 / 25
- Multi-instance management: each instance keeps its own directory, memory, port, and run state, and several can run at once
- Live console: line-by-line coloring, auto-follow, in-place progress refresh, plus command input and log export
- Plugins and mods: search and install from Modrinth, with per-item enable and disable
- Backup and restore: per-instance backup directories that can be exported anywhere
- Player management: parses the online list and join/leave events, with quick OP, whitelist, and kick commands
- Foreground keep-alive: a persistent notification and wake lock keep the server running with the screen off
- In-app updates: checks Releases and races several mirrors to pick the fastest
Target Audience
- Players who want to host Minecraft on a phone
- Users with a spare Android phone
- Players running small servers with friends
- Enthusiasts exploring Android server hosting
Quick Start
- Download the APK matching your phone's architecture from Releases:
arm64-v8afor 64-bit phones,armeabi-v7afor older 32-bit devices - Open the app and tap "Deploy" on the home page to initialize the Linux environment, since the rootfs is already bundled
- Go to "Server" → "New", choose a core type and game version, and configure memory, port, and player limits
- Tap "Download and create" and wait for the server files to be ready
- Tap "Start"; the first launch writes and accepts the EULA automatically and then restarts
- Watch live logs in "Console" and run commands such as
stop,op, andsayfrom the input box
Core Advantages
- Zero hosting barrier: no root, no Termux, and no manual Linux setup, just install the APK and host
- Reuse old phones: turn a spare Android phone into a low-power always-on server and save desktop performance
- Bundled materials: the Ubuntu environment ships in the package, so the first deploy skips a large rootfs download
- One flow end to end: environment, Java, server, EULA, and console all live in a single app
System Requirements
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| OS | Android 8.1 (API 27) or later |
| Architecture | arm64-v8a (recommended), armeabi-v7a (experimental) |
| Runtime | A real ARM device; x86_64 emulators cannot run the server |
| Network | Internet needed for the first environment deploy and Java install |
| Build | JDK 17+ and Android SDK (compileSdk 35) |
Notes
- x86_64 emulators cannot run the server; the UI works but deploying and starting need a real ARM device
- Forge and NeoForge server install is implemented but lightly verified on real devices, and failures print the full installer output to the console
- The first environment deploy and Java install need internet, and core jars are downloaded from official sources
- Running the server means you accept the Minecraft EULA; this project is for learning and personal use only
