Project Overview

The Hongguo Android TV client brings the Hongguo short-drama app to TVs and TV boxes and supports Android 6 and later, installable straight from an APK. It offers two playback builds: a standard build that plays through WebView, and an MPV build that solves black screens, audio-only playback, or failures to play on some devices. You can pick the build that fits your device. This repository only provides installers and upgrade information, and does not include the application source code.

Quick Start

1. Open the latest release page and pick an installer from the assets
2. For a first install or if playback works, choose the standard build (the file name has no mpv)
3. If the standard build shows a black screen or no audio, switch to the MPV build (the file name contains mpv)
4. Copy the APK to the TV or install it with a download tool
5. Sign in after installing, then check for updates in settings

Notes

• Both builds share the same installed name, so upgrades must use the build you originally installed, or the install will not overwrite
• The MPV build requires a separate sign-in and keeps its own local records and settings
• Software decoding demands more CPU power and may be less smooth on low-end boxes
• Update manifests and checksum files need no installation; ordinary users only need the APK
• On slower networks, add the speed-up prefix before the download link
