README

Project Overview

SrcBox is a high-performance IPTV player built for Windows: the libmpv core guarantees decoding muscle, a modern WPF interface handles the looks, and live-TV features like M3U lists, XMLTV guides, timeshift and scheduled recording are all on board.

It is deeply tuned for IPTV: millisecond FCC channel switching, UDP multicast optimizations, and 4/6/9-grid multi-view; a built-in web service turns your phone into a remote by scanning a QR code, installable as a PWA.

Turn your PC into an IPTV video wall: fast zapping, catch-up TV, and your phone as the remote.

Key Features

  • FCC fast zapping: millisecond channel changes without the usual IPTV wait
  • M3U + EPG: local and remote M3U lists with full XMLTV guides loading progressively
  • Timeshift: drag through live history freely, replay URLs generated from templates
  • Scheduled recording: foreground/background modes with WebDAV cloud sync
  • Multi-view: watch 4/6/9 channels at once, number keys switch layouts
  • Channel snapshots: hover a channel for a live preview (requires rtp2httpd)
  • Web remote: scan a QR code on your phone, with a simple remote pad or full UI, installable as PWA
  • Channel management: groups, search, favorites and history, remembering each channel's last source

Target Audience

  • Users watching IPTV on a PC
  • Tinkerers running their own IPTV sources and EPG
  • Users who need scheduled recording
  • Households controlling playback from a phone

Quick Start

  1. Download SrcBox_Setup or the portable zip from Releases
  2. Add your M3U playlist and XMLTV guide in settings
  3. Pick a channel to play, ↑↓ to zap, Enter for fullscreen
  4. For catch-up, open the EPG (E) and pick a past program
  5. Enable web remote and scan the code to zap and schedule from your phone

Core Advantages

  • Instant zapping: FCC and multicast tuning make channel changes feel immediate
  • Complete decoding: libmpv with auto multi-mode HW decode stays smooth on older machines
  • Remote without an app: one port serves HTTP and HTTPS, a full remote arrives via QR scan
  • Free and open: MIT licensed, no ads or IAP

System Requirements

Item Requirement
OS Windows 10/11 x64
Build tools .NET 8 SDK
Dependency libmpv-2.dll (provided at repo root)

Notes

  • No channel sources included: the project ships no m3u playlists or channel data, use legal sources
  • Preview requirements: hover snapshots need server-side rtp2httpd support
  • Self-signed HTTPS: the web remote's self-signed certificate must be trusted manually on phones
