Project Overview
MyNAS (my-nas) is a cross-platform home NAS media management client built with Flutter that runs on macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, and Linux. It unifies the many data sources people commonly use, including NAS protocols, media servers, downloaders, PT sites, subtitle sites, and media tracking services, into a single client that binds to no particular NAS brand and lets you bring your own sources. On a video detail page you can chain one-click actions from finding a resource to downloading, importing, and playing, so the entire home media library is reachable through one modern interface.
No brand lock-in: bring your own sources and manage the whole home from one app.
Key Features
- Multi-NAS support: Synology, UGREEN, fnOS, QNAP, WebDAV, SMB, and local storage
- Media servers: Jellyfin, Emby, and Plex with progress sync, continue watching, and next episode
- Video playback: mainstream containers and codecs with subtitle delay, speed, picture-in-picture, and casting
- AI subtitle translation: translate the current subtitle track into a target language with local caching
- Music playback: lossy and lossless formats with lock-screen controls, desktop lyrics, and a 10-band equalizer
- Comics and books: read CBZ, EPUB, PDF, and more with bookmarks, table of contents, and TTS
- Photo management: albums, timeline, and EXIF, plus face recognition and people grouping
- Notes: Markdown rendering, tree navigation, and search
- File browser: list and grid views with copy, move, upload, download, and share
- PT and downloaders: generic PT site search and one-click sending to qBittorrent, Transmission, Aria2, and more
- Media tracking: Trakt.tv OAuth sync for watchlist, watching, watched, and ratings
Target Audience
- Users who manage home media on a NAS
- People with several media servers and downloaders at once
- Binge-watchers who want a consistent experience across devices
- Organizers who want photos, books, and comics in one place
Quick Start
- Install the Flutter SDK (3.44.9 or newer) and clone the repository
- Run
flutter pub getanddart run build_runner build --delete-conflicting-outputs - Run on your platform, for example
flutter run -d macos - Add a data source in the app with your NAS or media server address and credentials
- Browse and play from the video, music, and other sections
Core Advantages
- Source freedom: no brand lock-in and simultaneous connections to Synology, Plex, qBittorrent, and any PT site
- End-to-end chaining: finding, downloading, importing, and playing all happen in the same client
- All platforms covered: a consistent experience on desktop, mobile, and TV
- Feature complete: video, music, photos, comics, books, notes, and file management together
System Requirements

Notes
- Self-building on macOS / iOS requires replacing the Bundle ID, Team ID, and App Group identifiers first
- Music scraping writes only metadata and covers and never downloads or distributes audio
- Commercial scraping sources show a risk notice before enabling; use them only for music you lawfully own
- Online book sources must be imported by the user; the app bundles none
