README

Project Overview

ITV Desk is a Windows desktop tool for organizing IPTV sources: it helps you gather scattered streams, check whether they work, and turn them into a clean playlist. It supports web scraping, M3U subscriptions, bulk import, and subnet scanning, and can verify online status, latency, and real playability while correcting channel names with local OCR. A built-in HLS, FLV, and RTMP player and a LAN subscription gateway let phones, TVs, and players on the same network subscribe to the channel list you compiled.

Turn a pile of messy streams into a channel list you can just open and watch.

Key Features

  • Channel management: web scraping, M3U subscriptions, bulk import, and subnet scanning, with one row per source and identical names kept as separate rows
  • Health checks: verify online status, latency, resolution, and real playability, including playback screenshot verification
  • Channel-name correction: local OCR reads the on-screen logo, cross-checks an alias library and EPG, and proposes renames you confirm before applying, with one-click undo
  • Alias library: 110 built-in groups covering CCTV, provincial satellite, and HK/Macau/Taiwan channels, editable and importable in settings
  • Auto grouping and rule renaming: categorize by channel name, with batch rule renaming and garbled base-link repair
  • EPG: match program guide data and show the current program during playback
  • LAN subscription gateway: phones, TVs, and players can subscribe directly to the channel list on your machine
  • Built-in player: HLS, FLV, and RTMP with speed control, picture-in-picture, always-on-top, and an EPG info bar
  • Statistics reports: daily records of online rate, dead sources, ad channels, and latency/quality distribution

Target Audience

  • IPTV users running their own stream sources
  • Households with a large TV and set-top box
  • Tinkerers who need to organize and de-duplicate streams
  • Users who want phones and TVs to share a single channel list

Quick Start

  1. Download ITV-Desk-Setup-x.y.z.exe from Releases, or choose the portable or folder version
  2. Open the app, paste a web address or import an M3U subscription to add sources
  3. Run a health check to filter out offline and dead streams and keep the watchable channels
  4. Run channel-name correction when needed, then confirm the suggestions before applying
  5. Enable the LAN subscription gateway so TVs or players on the same network can subscribe

Core Advantages

  • End-to-end workflow: scraping, checking, grouping, and export in one chain, with no manual filtering
  • Suggests, never surprises: name correction only proposes changes, applies them after you confirm, and can undo
  • Player included: checking and watching happen in the same app, with no tool switching
  • Your data stays local: channels, settings, logos, and cache remain on your machine with encrypted backup support

System Requirements

Item Requirement
OS Windows
Backend runtime System Python 3.12; name correction needs extra OCR dependencies
Installation Installer EXE, portable EXE, or folder ZIP

Notes

  • The installer does not bundle Python or backend dependencies; the backend runs on your system Python
  • Without the OCR dependencies only channel-name correction is unavailable; other features are unaffected
  • Stream availability and licensing depend on the source sites; verify compliance yourself
