README

Project Overview

NIO Radio is an NIO podcast player for phone and desktop browsers, implemented as a purely static Vite PWA. It updates the episode catalog daily and lists albums by the latest episode time, and it saves playback progress and recently played episodes so you can pick up where you left off. All progress, history, and play-later data stay in the visitor's own browser.

A NIO podcast web player that resumes right where you stopped.

Key Features

  • Daily updates: refresh the episode catalog automatically and list albums by latest episode time
  • Progress memory: save playback progress and recently played to resume next time
  • Play later: add any episode to a queue for unified management
  • Desktop layout: switch to a desktop layout with side navigation on wide screens
  • Multi-device access: an Android app plus add-to-home-screen support
  • One-click deploy: host your own copy on Vercel or Cloudflare
  • Offline cache: a show-then-update caching strategy for covers

Target Audience

  • Listeners of NIO podcasts
  • People who want to listen on a computer
  • Developers who want to self-host a podcast site

Quick Start

  1. Open the official site to start listening
  2. Android users can download the APK or add to home screen
  3. Progress is recorded automatically and resumes next time
  4. To self-host, deploy to Vercel or Cloudflare with one click

Core Advantages

  • Purely static: no server needed, deployable to any static host
  • Local data: progress and history live only in your own browser
  • Complete experience: progress, history, and play later all included

System Requirements

Item Requirement
Browser A modern PWA-capable browser
Android app Android 6.0 or later

Notes

  • The Android app needs unknown-sources permission on first install
