README

Project Overview

"Legado - Personal Enhanced Branch" is an Android reader the developer uses personally, forked from Legado Sigma. It keeps the original custom book sources, local reading, and replacement cleaning, and adds a set of personal touches: reading history and statistics, an LLM-powered AI assistant, idea annotations with export, reading receipts, WebDAV enhancements, and theme export. The project states clearly that it provides no book resources and exists only as a reading tool.

A classic reader plus a bit of statistics, a bit of AI, and a bit of ceremony.

Key Features

  • Reading history: records daily reading data with stats and export, and can feed a visualization project for charts
  • AI assistant: connects to an LLM to chat, call tools, query the shelf, and even help take notes
  • Idea annotations: long-press text to write an idea, generate a share card, and export to Obsidian
  • Reading receipt: shows a small receipt on a book's first and last pages with rating and reading time
  • WebDAV enhancements: delete and rename cloud backups locally without visiting a web UI
  • Finished/re-read tags: mark books as finished or re-read for an at-a-glance shelf
  • Theme export: export all theme settings in one tap for sharing or migration
  • Web API extensions: extra endpoints for external agents to manage the shelf
  • UI refresh: the interface adopts Material Design 3 throughout

Target Audience

  • Long-time Legado or Legado Sigma users
  • Users who want to record and visualize reading data
  • Readers who want AI help with reading and note-taking
  • People who like tracking reading with tags and receipts

Quick Start

  1. Download the APK from Releases and install it on Android
  2. Import book sources you legitimately hold, or open local books
  3. While reading, long-press text to write ideas and highlights, and check your reading history
  4. Configure an AI service and WebDAV in settings to enable the assistant and cloud backup
  5. Export themes to back up your layout and migrate quickly when changing devices

Core Advantages

  • Meaningful additions: adds statistics, AI, annotations, and ceremony on top of the original
  • Data visualization: reading history exports to charts so you can see your volume clearly
  • Portable notes: ideas and notes export to Obsidian in one tap to build knowledge
  • Modern UI: Material Design 3 gives a consistent look
