Project Overview

hongguoTV is an unofficial Hongguo short-drama client for the living-room TV. This branch ships a standalone Kotlin native APK that works online right after install, with no Node or Docker required. It supports Android 8.0 and above and is tailored to TV remote control, covering recommendations, search, details, episode selection and playback, plus in-app updates.

Install it on the TV and binge short dramas with nothing but the remote.

Key Features

• Content browsing: recommendations, keyword search, paging, details and episode lists
• Remote control: arrow keys move focus, OK opens, Back exits
• Playback control: original-ratio playback, pause, seek, previous and next episode and auto-play-next
• Local records: local favorites, recent viewing and resume playback
• Connection setup: service address and optional access token, with connectivity check and retry
• In-app updates: the TV checks and downloads new versions while browsing, keeping records across upgrades

Quick Start

1. Download the native APK from the corresponding Release page
2. Copy it to the TV to install, or install via ADB
3. Open the app, enter the service address in Settings and connect
4. Go to recommendations or search and open a drama to start playing

Notes

• This project is unrelated to Hongguo official; the content API is an unofficial implementation and may break when the platform changes
• The first release uses a local development signature; configure your own release signing before public distribution
• The iOS project skeleton is kept, but mobile and web clients are not delivered yet
