README
Project Overview
PCL Nex is a community Minecraft launcher forked from the open-source PCL codebase. It includes features and improvements not yet made in the mainline and supports plugin extensibility and custom features.
Key Features
- Minecraft launching and management built on the open-source PCL codebase
- A plugin extension mechanism for custom features
- Includes improvements and new features not yet available in the PCL mainline
- Provides its own community download channel and a plugin development guide
Target Audience
- Minecraft players who want features the PCL mainline does not provide yet
- Users who need plugin extensibility and a customizable launcher
- Developers interested in launcher forks
Quick Start
- Go to the Releases page and download the latest community build
- Make sure the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime is installed
- Unzip and run the launcher, sign in and choose a game version
- For extra features, follow the plugin development guide to build or install plugins
Core Advantages
- Built on the mature PCL project with features not yet in the mainline
- Plugin extensibility lets you customize launcher capabilities
- Independent community support channels and a plugin development guide
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 1809 (17763) or later is fully supported; Windows 8 and older should run in theory; macOS and Linux cross-platform support is in internal testing
- Additional dependencies: the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime on Windows, and the .NET 10 SDK for cross-platform use
Notes
- Community version numbers do not strictly correspond to the mainline; do not report community issues to the official repository
- The community only supports the latest version, so always use the newest launcher
- The Plain Craft Launcher 2 directory uses a custom license, while all other directories use the Apache License 2.0
- Cross-platform support on macOS and Linux is in internal testing; do not rely on it for daily use
