README

Project Overview

raclen reworks OuterTune/InnerTune into this Android build, keeping the original Material 3 interface, play queues, and Media3 playback core while rewiring online search and playback through Kuwo search and LX custom sources. Local playback covers MP3, FLAC, OGG, and common formats, while the online side removes all YouTube-related modules, leaving LX parsing as the only path, with source scripts imported by the user.

One Android app holding both your local library and LX-powered online sources.

Item Value
Platform Android 7.0 (API 24) and above
Stack Kotlin + Media3 + QuickJS
Packages Separate arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a builds
License GPL-3.0
Upstream OuterTune / InnerTune

Current Features

  • Local music: MP3, FLAC, OGG, and common formats with folders, library, history, and multi-queue persistence
  • LX online music: search songs, artists, and albums across Kugou, NetEase, QQ Music, and Kuwo
  • Quality choice: 128k, 320k, FLAC, and FLAC 24bit, with independent playback and download quality
  • Lyrics: embedded lyrics first, falling back to same-folder files or online sources, LRC/TTML supported
  • Playback experience: Material 3 with dark mode, background play, equalizer, speed and pitch, Android Auto
  • Internet radio: Radio Browser based with a RoamDial-style tuning dial, bitrate and language filters

Import an LX Source

  1. Open the search page and go to Settings → LX Source
  2. Import a local .js file, or paste an http/https link pointing to a .js script
  3. Pick playback and download quality on the same page, four tiers each
  4. Scripts stay in local app data, and online playback prompts you to import one if missing

Search & Playback

  • Search entry: results default to Kuwo, switchable to the other three on the results page
  • Async covers: text results show first, covers load via Coil and backfill only the current track when missing
  • Unified path: playback and downloads share LX parsing, source params persist per song in the local database and survive restarts
  • Output formats: 128k/320k save as .mp3, FLAC and Hi-Res as .flac, into your chosen download folder

Build & Install

  1. Match the package to your phone: arm64-v8a for 64-bit, armeabi-v7a for 32-bit, no universal build
  2. Building yourself needs JDK 21, Android SDK 36, and NDK/CMake for the native TagLib module
  3. The debug package id is com.dd3boh.outertune.debug and can coexist with other installs

Notes

  • Bring your own source: no default source is bundled, scripts are imported by you and stay on the device
  • Feature trims: YouTube/InnerTube login, recommendations, and sync are all removed, online goes through LX only
  • License: GPL-3.0 carried over from OuterTune/InnerTune
