README
Project Overview
BedrockBoot is a Minecraft Bedrock Edition launcher for Windows and Linux, forked from BedrockLauncher.Core and built with Avalonia and C#. It integrates game and CurseForge resource downloads right in the launcher and ships its own PaperConnect online-play scheme, so Bedrock play no longer depends on Xbox. Multi-directory, multi-instance, version isolation, and multi-account management come along too.
Downloads, resources, instances, and online play all in one Bedrock launcher.
Key Features
- Download the game: supports GDK and UWP types across releases
- Download resources: browse and download CurseForge resources inside the launcher
- Resource-pack management: manage resource packs, behavior packs, skin packs, saves, world templates, screenshots, and servers
- Resource conversion: convert resources and saves between Java and Bedrock inside the launcher
- Online play: a built-in PaperConnect component for playing with friends without Xbox
- Multi-directory, multi-instance: add several game directories and run multiple instances at once
- Version isolation: keep instances separate so their resources do not mix
- Account management: sign in to and switch XBOX accounts on Windows and Linux
- Mouse lock: keep the pointer inside the game window to avoid stray clicks
- Mod support: install and manage LeviLamina and its mods, plus various DllMods
- Plugin extension: download officially listed plugins to extend the launcher
- Deep personalization: change fonts, backgrounds, and background music, with 3D parallax backgrounds
Target Audience
- Windows and Linux Minecraft Bedrock players
- Players who manage several versions and instances
- Bedrock players who want mods, textures, and skins
- Users who prefer online play without Xbox
Quick Start
Windows
- Make sure the system is Windows 10 (19041 or later) or Windows 11
- Download the release and extract it to a non-protected directory, then run
BedrockBoot.exe - Open the "Download" module and pick the Bedrock version or resource pack you need
- Configure the instance and click start to enter the game
Linux
- Download the release and run
BedrockBoot.AppImage(Arch users canparu -S bedrockboot) - On first launch, download the
ProtonGDKruntime dependency - Open the "Download" module and pick the version or resource pack you need
- Configure the instance and click start to enter the game
Core Advantages
- All-in-one management: downloads, resources, mods, saves, and instances in one window
- Freer online play: PaperConnect frees Bedrock multiplayer from Xbox
- Cross-platform: runs on Windows and Linux, with Linux using ProtonGDK for GDK
- Extensible and fun: plugins, skins, and themed appearances personalize the launcher itself
System Requirements
| Item | Requirement |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 (19041+) / 11, Linux |
| Linux dependency | ProtonGDK runtime (downloaded by the launcher on first use) |
| Building from source | .NET 10 SDK, Visual Studio 2022 or Rider |
Notes
- On first launch the launcher detects and fills in missing runtime components, so stay online
- Running GDK on Linux needs ProtonGDK, so allow time for the download and extraction
- Other third-party Bedrock launchers are compatible, though LeviLauncher support is not yet complete
- Previewing and editing save maps is not available yet
