Project Overview

Ciallo Reader is an Android reading app built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose that puts novels, manga and personal ebooks on one bookshelf. It can import local files and also search content through built-in or custom sources, download it to the shelf, and continue reading with adjustable layout, page turns and reading progress. The app supports many formats and adds extras such as manga image enhancement and translation.

Quick Start

1. Download the APK from the release page and install it
2. Open the bookshelf and tap Import to pick a supported file from your device
3. Open the library and choose novels, manga or aggregated search
4. Enable, manage or import sources under source management in settings
5. On a work page, download a whole novel or manga chapters locally and then read offline

Notes

• Translation privacy: OCR and bubble detection run on device, but generating translations calls the chosen online service
• Model download: the full enhancement model is downloaded on demand and then usable offline
• License scope: the project source is MIT, while some models and assets follow their own licenses
