Project Overview

WinDynamicDesktop brings the macOS Mojave Dynamic Desktop feature to Windows 10 and 11. It changes the desktop wallpaper over time, switching to the matching image at different parts of the day to mirror the real sky. It is available on GitHub and the Microsoft Store, developed mainly for Windows 11 but runnable on Windows 7 and later.

Quick Start

1. Install from GitHub Releases or the Microsoft Store
2. On first launch pick a bundled theme, or browse the online library and import one
3. Set the wallpaper switching schedule in "Configure Timing"
4. Enter your location so the timing calculations are more accurate
5. Drop PowerShell scripts into the scripts folder to extend behavior
6. Adjust the wallpaper fit in settings and keep updates enabled

Notes

• Windows Insider preview builds are outside official support
• Separate images cannot be shown on different virtual desktops
• In some cases the wallpaper fit is not remembered, or the wallpaper gets stuck and stops updating
• The bundled wallpaper images belong to Apple
