Huzai

Project Overview

Huzai is an open-source third-party Android client for the Hupu community, written with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose and following Material 3. It gathers the home feed, more than two hundred zones, ratings and esports schedules, thread details, direct messages and user pages into one app, for people who browse Hupu on their phone.

Key Features

• Home: hot, recommended and topic horizontal bars with a dual-style card feed, skeleton screens, pull to refresh and instant cache display
• Zones: browse over two hundred sub-zones, with a second-level slide-in transition for thread feeds
• Ratings: a general rating feed and esports schedules, with schedule cards, match and player details, nested comments, scoring and likes
• Thread details: ordered text and image rendering, windowed and full-screen video, image switching within one message, structured match reports, and reply sorting by default, latest or hottest or poster-only
• Sign-in and interaction: sign in through the built-in browser, then recommend threads, like comments, post comments and reply in nested threads
• Direct messages: a conversation list and chat page, with unread badges in the message center
• User pages: profile card, follow and unfollow, plus posts, replies, recommendations, favorites and following lists
• Personalization: a floating glass tab bar, custom home and rating channels, keyword filtering, reading font size, light and dark modes and seven accent themes
• Update check: checks for new versions on launch, with an option to ignore a version or check manually

Quick Start

1. Download the signed APK from Releases and install it
2. Swipe left and right on the home page to switch between hot, recommended and topics
3. Enter a sub-zone under Zones to browse threads, and check schedules and matches under Ratings
4. Sign in on the Me page to post and comment
5. Adjust the start page, channels, keyword filters and theme in settings
