README

Overview

This repo holds only a README and installers — AIBOX's source code, plugin SDK, and built-in engine live in private repositories, and this public release repo stores build artifacts and release notes only. AIBOX itself is a Flutter-based cross-platform content aggregation client running on Android, Windows, and iOS, unifying video, novel, and comic sources with local search, reading, playback, downloading, danmaku, rule editing, and plugin extensions.

The app is an empty shell without sources; you configure them, and AI helps write them.

Item Detail
Positioning Content aggregation client unifying video, novels, and comics
Platforms Android (arm64-v8a / armeabi-v7a / x86_64), Windows setup.exe, unsigned iOS IPA
Playback core media_kit (same lineage as Predidit/Kazumi)
Source-writing companion aibox-drpy-source AI Skill (L1/L2/L3 acceptance)
Repo nature Build artifacts and docs only; no app source code

Three Content Modules

  • Video: multi-source home, categories, search, details, multi-route, multi-episode, playback, history, and favorites
  • Novels: book-source management, search, details, catalogs, reading progress, shelves, and chapter downloads
  • Comics: comic-source management, search, details, catalogs, reader, progress, and gallery downloads
  • Repository: favorites, watch history, reading history, continue browsing, and downloaded content
  • Source management: enable, disable, group, reorder, and refresh sources individually; when upstream sites change and rules break, re-edit, replace, or disable them in the source manager

AI Source-Writing Workflow

AIBOX is the runtime, management, debugging, and on-device acceptance environment for DS sources; the public aibox-drpy-source project wraps source-writing knowledge, rule syntax, diagnostics, and a CLI into an AI Skill, letting Codex or other SKILL.md-capable agents generate and repair sources from real page or API evidence. One workflow covers four content types: video, novel, comic, and magnet/BT.

Level Checks What it proves
L1 JavaScript syntax, AST, templates, fields, and protocol contracts File structure is sound and ready for runtime tests
L2 Real single endpoints: home, categories, details, search, playback, or body text The target site currently returns valid data
L3 Full chains wired with real IDs Upstream and downstream data actually connect, rather than isolated endpoints passing
  1. Download the skill archive from the aibox-drpy-source latest Release and extract it into your Codex Skills directory
  2. Run npm ci in the skill directory, then restart Codex or reload Skills
  3. Run the CLI's help and doctor to verify installation
  4. Mention the skill with a target site; the AI fetches real responses, classifies the site type, generates a single-file DS source, completes L1/L2/L3, then imports it into AIBOX

The skill is not a blind selector-guesser: on login walls, Cloudflare, sliders, DRM, missing credentials, or strict risk control, it preserves failure evidence and stops guessing. The CLI also offers triage, compose, lint, check, heal, save, share, and more; heal and share modify files or upload source, running only with explicit user approval.

Player and Danmaku

  • Playback: HLS/m3u8, MP4, media with Referer/User-Agent/Cookie headers, local videos, multi-route multi-episode, speed, fullscreen, picture-in-picture, playback memory, and Anime4K upscaling shaders when conditions allow
  • Decoder selection: Android offers auto-safe through mediacodec/vulkan options with gpu/gpu-next renderers; Windows offers d3d11va, nvdec, and dxva2 families; iOS offers videotoolbox; decoder failures fall back to software decoding without blaming the source site
  • Danmaku: built-in DanDanPlay source plus multiple self-hosted danmu_api-compatible services; sources search concurrently with grouped results, one failure never trips others, and a chosen title loads danmaku from that source only
  • Downloads and browser: plain HTTP, Range, HLS segments, resume, concurrent tasks, novel/comic batch downloads, and a BT entry; the built-in browser listens for media requests and sniffs videos
  • Data and backup: shelves, favorites, history, downloads, source configs, plugin configs, cache cleanup, and WebDAV backup

Usage Boundaries

The app is not a fixed content site; displayed content, media URLs, and rules depend on user-configured sources, rule authors, and upstream service status. Neither AIBOX nor the Skill distributes ready-to-use third-party site sources — users must provide targets they are authorized to access and test. Official packages ship exclusively via Releases; the iOS build is an unsigned IPA requiring self-signing and sideloading.
