Project Overview

Hongguo short dramas officially exist only on phones and Windows, leaving Mac users as second-class citizens. This self-built adaptation brings the whole experience to macOS: not a web wrapper but a complete SwiftUI native window over a local backend, covering discovery, search, episode autoplay, speed and resume playback, and local favorites and history.

• Native window experience: SwiftUI windows and a Dock icon with WKWebView rendering, not a simple web wrapper
• Category discovery: filters, hot rankings and live-action / comic / AI drama browsing, with search
• Full playback: episode picking, speed control, auto-play and resume, plus next-episode preload for zero-wait switching
• Local favorites and history: saved on-device without login, tied to no account
• Local decrypted streaming: videos decrypt on your machine into standard mp4 with Range seeking
• One-script install: setup_mac.command assembles the backend, JRE and dependencies automatically, no Homebrew or developer tools needed
• Clean shutdown: closing the app tears down the local backend services, leaving no background processes

Quick Start

1. Download setup_mac.command from Releases
2. Right-click and choose Open to pass the first-run security check, then wait a few minutes
3. The app launches automatically when installation finishes
