Project Overview
Tomato Supermarket brings the Fanqie novel Android client's content consumption to the Windows desktop, the difference being a shared business core with the Android build: the same fqapi_core, the same signing, device pool, CENC decryption, and stream-selection pipeline, not a rewrite. It is an 11.4 MB single exe relying on the system's WebView2 for zero runtime dependencies, installing nothing, registering nothing, and uninstalling completely when you delete the data directory. Novels, audiobooks, short dramas, animated dramas, and comics all live in one client, restoring features the trimmed mobile build dropped.
One exe carries the whole Fanqie library, redesigned for desktop instead of a blown-up phone page.

Key Features
- Discover and search: Fanqie store feeds and rankings; paged, cached search across novel, comic, audiobook, and drama channels
- Novel reading: decrypted body rendering, chapter jumps, and reading progress
- Audiobooks: upstream audio streams first, falling back to system speech synthesis reading timestamped scripts
- Dramas: stream selection filtering unsupported codecs, preferring h264 at equal quality
- Comics: images decrypted and served locally, paged by chapter
- Bookshelf: continue-reading, recent, and favorites saved locally with lazy title loading
- Desktop-native design: resident sidebar, fixed top bar, immersive pages waking on hover, and widescreen grids with adaptive columns

Quick Start
- Download tomato-supermarket-v1.0.0.exe from Releases and double-click from any folder
- First launch creates %LOCALAPPDATA%/fqapp-pc holding your shelf, favorites, and progress
- Verify the download with Get-FileHash against SHA256SUMS
- For a pure USB portable run, set FQPC_HOME to your data directory first
How It Works
- Compiled-in assets: the Web UI and defaults are embedded in the exe, UI refreshed every launch while config is created only when missing
- Same-origin session: the window opens /_session/ with a one-time capability on 127.0.0.1:8080, swapped for an HttpOnly cookie before redirect, so pages never see the capability
- Fixed port: a changed port would void the localStorage bookshelf, so 8080 is preferred, shifting through 8 ports before surrendering to a random one with a logged warning
Notes
- Windows x64 only: the Tauri v2 + WebView2 shell needs porting for other platforms
- Plaintext device pool: DPAPI is not wired up, device identity sits in device_pool.json as local user data
- Audiobook voices: the upstream audio API returns invalid aid, so system TTS reads scripts, voice quality depending on installed Chinese voices
- Empty channels: some recommendation channels depend on Fanqie's tab_type config, showing a notice instead of spinning
- Consumption only: like the Android build, no login and no social writes such as likes or shares
