Project Overview

LX Focus is a Windows desktop app forked from LX Music Desktop that turns a "focus lock" and "music playback" into one thing. After you set a duration and goal, the app takes over window and system-level interactions to make switching away hard; it plays a chosen playlist during focus, switches playlists or mutes during breaks, and honestly records each session's duration, completion, and distraction count.

• Focus timer: a ring timer with presets of 15, 25, 45, 60, and 90 minutes, or a custom value
• Multi-round cycles: alternate focus and break with configurable rounds and break length
• Four-layer focus lock: window takeover, shortcut blocking, low-level keyboard hooks, and an unlock code
• Music integration: bind playlists to focus and break, switching or muting during breaks
• Distraction logging: minimizes interfering windows and records a distraction, with a music fade-out reminder

Quick Start

1. Download the portable build or installer from Releases
2. On launch, set the duration and goal in the focus interface
3. Choose playlists for focus and break respectively
4. Click start to enter the focus lock and begin timing
5. Enter the unlock code to pause or end a session

Notes

• Ctrl+Alt+Del, force-ending via Task Manager, and safe mode are OS boundaries that cannot be blocked
• Enabling "kill violating processes directly" may lose unsaved work in other apps and is off by default
• The unlock code is only a local hash comparison; reset it in the config if forgotten
